Stat Glossary

Below is every abbreviation used across the five strategy views, with a definition and a plain, everyday explanation. Use it as a reference — you don't need to read it end to end. Every stat is a percentage; turn on Breakdown to see the raw counts behind each one (see Reading the Colours).

Serve & return core

These are the headline stats — they appear in Key Stats and across the specialist views.

Abbrev Full name What it means Plain explanation
SH Service Hold % Share of the player's own service games that they win. How often this player wins the games they serve. Higher = harder to break.
SPW Service Points Won % All points won while serving. Out of every point on their serve, how many they win.
RPW Return Points Won % Points won when receiving the opponent's serve. How often they win a point on the other player's serve.
BPS Break Points Saved % Of break points faced on serve, the share saved. When they're in danger of being broken, how often they wriggle out of it.
BPW Break Points Won % Of break points earned on the opponent's serve, the share converted. When they get a chance to break, how often they take it.
OpH Opponent Hold % How often this player's opponents hold serve. Good when low. How often the other players manage to hold serve against them — a low number is good.
FS First Serve % Share of serves landing in as a first serve. How often their first serve goes in.
FSPW 1st Serve Points Won % Points won when the first serve is in. When their first serve lands, how often they win the point.
SSPW 2nd Serve Points Won % Points won on the second serve. How well they cope on their weaker second serve.

Set-pattern stats

These capture what happens at key moments — closing sets out, coming back, holding under pressure. They power the specialist views. Set patterns happen far less often than points or games, so watch the counts in Breakdown.

Abbrev What it means Plain explanation
BaBB After being broken, breaks straight back before the set ends. When they lose their serve, how often they hit straight back.
WFS Wins the opening set. How often they take the first set.
WS1W2S Wins set 1, then wins in straight sets. After taking set 1, how often they finish the job quickly.
LS1WS2 Loses set 1, wins set 2. After dropping the first set, how often they hit back to take the second.
LS1FBS2 Loses set 1, gets the first break of set 2. After losing set 1, how often they strike first in the second.
LS1BFS2WS2 Loses set 1, is broken first in set 2, still wins set 2. A deep fightback — behind and broken, yet still takes the set.
LS1BFS2BB Loses set 1, is broken first in set 2, breaks back. Same tough spot, measured by whether they claw the break back.

Identity columns

Column Meaning
Sched Time The match's scheduled start, in your own local time zone.
Player The player's name, with an ⓘ icon to their full stats page.
Odds Decimal price; lower = favourite. A dash means no price yet.

A good place to start as a beginner: learn SH, SPW, RPW and BPW first — they describe most of a player's serve-and-return strength. The set- pattern stats add detail once you're comfortable.
